In Amatrice, Accumoli, Pescara and Arquata del Tronto – as in all areas affected by the terrible earthquake of 24 August 2016 – are the night of memory. The President of the Council, Giuseppe Conte, will take part in Pescara del Tronto (Ascoli Piceno) at 13.30 this evening during the commemoration of the victims of the earthquake.
The head of civil protection Angelo Borrelli, according to the curia of Ascoli Piceno, would also attend the vigil. During the evening, Bishop Giovanni D & # 39; Ercole will celebrate the Mass; At 3:36 am, to the rhythm of a bell, the names of the victims of the earthquake will be read alongside Ascoli.
In the two cities of the Reatino, different moments of remembrance and prayer will take place. At 21.00, on Illica, the bishop of Rieti, Mgr. Domenico Pompili, will lead the Eucharistic worship in one of the parts of Accumoli that had the largest number of casualties. Instead, the prayer vigil will take place in Amatrice from 1:30 am.
From 3 present the commemoration monument of the victims will be reached with a torch relay. Here there will be a moment of silence and memory to remind those who have lost their lives that night. Prayer starts at 3:30 am, preceded by the ringing of the bell: one for each of the 239 cases.
On August 24 at 11 am the structure that was set up for the night will see Bishop Pompili presiding over the Eucharistic celebration broadcast live on Rai Uno. The bishop will also preside at Mass five hours in Accumoli in the main Sae area where the war memorial is located.
