Rome, water bomb and whirlwind in the evening: landslides, fallen trees, flooding

A real water bomb after 19.30 hours, with landslides of walls and ridges, fallen trees, everywhere in the area south of Rome and a whirlwind that affected Velletri, Lariano, Lanuvio and Albano with considerable damage.

Some streets are closed, such as Via San Nicola and Via Appia south of Velletri, where a number of fence walls and numerous trees have descended under the force of water and wind.

In Albano, in the Via Valle Pozzo region, on the Via Nettunense, floods and trees fell on the road, causing civil protection and local police to spend a few hours.

At Lanuvio, local police and civil protection seize on Via Nettunense in Campoleone for a large tree on the closed lane. Numerous civil protection teams from all Castelli Romani and firefighting aircraft are still working on removing trees and mud from many roads in Velletri. (photo Luciano Sciurba)
