One of the biggest problems that Jeju faces as a result of the population and tourists is the problem of waste disposal. Although Jeju Island has published several recipe books, the warning light has been on for a long time and all landfills in the province are almost saturated. In particular, the Jeju Environmental Resource Circulation Center project, which is being pursued for the storage of stalls, is also concerned about the disruption and destruction of residents who oppose the violation of the Jeju Court.
Because the dump of the landfill is almost complete, the circulation center for environmental resources to integrate the entire waste in 2013 is located in Dongbang-ri, Gu-eup, Jeju. At that time, Jeju Jeju City, along with Jeju City, presented various support measures and carried out a total war effort to persuade residents to oppose the location of the horrendous facilities. In the end, Dongbang decided to attract 69.8% of the votes during the referendum on 29 April 2014 and on 7 May a three-way agreement was signed with the governor of Dojisa, Jeju Island,
Due to the non-compliance by the provincial government, however, people living in Dongbok have started an action to stop the construction of the Environmental Resource Circulation Center on 1 March and an emergency has occurred in the disposal of waste. If the landfills in the province become almost saturated and the schedule for the completion of the circulation center for environmental resources is postponed in January next year, it will be a disaster. Nonetheless, waste incineration plants do not fulfill the promise of negotiating location choice, such as land supply for residents and the import and return of facilities for generating electricity.
For a stable waste disposal, four years ago, we must return to the beginning of persuasion. Although it was not mentioned in the agreement, it promised to find various support projects, such as the cultivation of tropical plants in the incinerator's incinerator. At the time of 2015, Kim Byung-lip, the mayor of Jeju, replied that the facility can be used as a waste water heater by installing a waste heat pipe in a farming village and last year the Ministry of Environment is promoting a greenhouse that uses waste heat as a project for improvement of the incomes of residents. If you cheat the residents with your intuition, who can trust the city? The prefecture may not break the version of the agreement that was difficult during the previous trip.
