Coca-Cola Coffee Cafe & # 39; bought & # 39; Coca-Coca & # 39; – worldwide

& # 39; The world's largest non-alcoholic beverage producer, Coca-Cola Co. said on Friday that it had come to an agreement to buy the coffee shop Costa Coffee in the UK.

"Hot drinks are one of the few remaining segments where Coca-Cola is not a global brand, and Costa Coffee gives us access to this market with a strong café network platform."

The company points out that Costa Coffee will buy $ 3.9 billion (€ 4.3 billion) from Whitbread owners in the UK.

"Hot drinks are one of the few remaining segments where Coca-Cola is not a global brand, and Costa Coffee gives us access to this market with a strong network of coffee shops," said Coca-Cola.

Such a decision was made at a time when Coca-Cola and PepsiCo are struggling to increase the volume of drinks sold in the light of concerns about obesity and artificial sweeteners.

Whitbread bought Costa Coffee in 1995 and currently holds around 2,400 coffee shops in the UK and an estimated 1400 worldwide.
