The live broadcast of the concert will be available for free on the Facebook page of the social site VSIA “Latvijas koncerti”.
According to the concert organizers, the winner of the Baltic Young Composers Big Band composition competition, jointly organized by the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music and the Latvian Radio Big Band, will also be announced during the concert.
The concert features original works by the new generation of Baltic composers, the internationally renowned Jievaras Jasinskis (Lithuania), Raul Sööt (Estonia), and the musical director of the Latvian Radio Big Band Kārlis Vanags. The concert will be concluded by the works of Jānis Rubikas (Latvia), Kristina Bianca Rantala (Estonia) and Reina Ašmanis (Latvia), the finalists of the Baltic Young Composers Big Band Composition Competition, which will also be judged remotely by the members of the competition jury.
However, the Latvian Radio Big Band is delighted that in this turbulent time and unusual situation an opportunity has been found to sound safe for this concert and for as many listeners as possible to enjoy it.
