In the model proposed by the Ministry of Defense, national defense training is divided into four blocks.

In the model proposed by the Ministry of Defense, national defense education is divided into four blocks: national education (local and Latvian history, patriotism), a school of life (development of skills necessary for life, such as teamwork), physical fitness and military training (equivalent training with the National Armed Forces Infantry). the basic training of the first level for the school, after which it can become a reserve soldier).

Young national after-school teachers will be provided with national defense schools that will also receive pedagogical education alongside existing military education.

It has already been reported that on 22 May the Saeima Defense, Internal Affairs and Corruption Prevention Commission supported the idea of ​​introducing national defense training as a mandatory subject in all secondary educational institutions of the state from 2024 onwards.
