At the end of the open competition for the position of member of the board of Pauls Stradins Clinical University Hospital (Stradiņa Hospital), Ilze Kreicberga, the former head of the hospital, was recognized as the best candidate, informs the Ministry of Health (VM).
Kreicber has been appointed as a board member for five years.
A total of 27 applications were received by the open competition for the position of the chairman of the board of directors and member of the board of directors.
VM notes that Kreicberga obtained a PhD in 1985 at the Riga Medical Institute (specialized neonatologist) and in 2004 obtained a Master's Degree in Business Administration at the Riga Business School of the Technical University of Riga. In 2014 Kreicberga defended his thesis "The characterization of molecular processes in the placenta of different gestational age" and obtained the doctorate in medicine.
Kreicber began his career in 1978 at the Children's Clinical University Hospital, later worked in various positions in the Dobele District Central Hospital and in the Riga Maternity Hospital. Since 1996 he is the leading neonatologist at the Riga Maternity Hospital, but since 2013 – the chairman of the board of the Riga Maternity Hospital.
The responsibilities of the chair of the Stradin hospital in Kreicbergs are from February 2017. The hospital was without the chairman of the board since the spring of 2015, when this job was left behind by Din Schmitt in connection with the loss of confidence of the then Minister of Health Gunta Belēviča. Subsequently, matches for the position of head of the hospital were announced, but these ended without result.
