Former rock cafe in the center of Liepaja, Stendera Street.
In early August, according to the plan, it was started to rebuild the former building 1 of the 18th Stendera Str. 18 in Riga, to quickly enter Hesburger's fast-food restaurant, Kurzeme Portal reports "ranajnieki.lv" today.
Director of international development and marketing of the portal of Hesburger Ieva Salmela revealed that the company intends to use the project at the end of this year.
Because this building has been emotionally important to Liepahans, many residents of the city are not satisfied with this change. "This is both an emotional and rational issue, the fact that Liepaja's historically important place is a different company, many would dislike it and I would also prefer a car café instead of a fast-food restaurant in this place, "said Ģirts Kronbergs, deputy mayor of Tourism and Investment in Liepaja.
"But from a business perspective this is a good news. The entrepreneur sees Liepaja opportunities for business environment and solvency of people, and thus invests in creating new places," he added.
Two Hesburger restaurants have been active in Liepaja for several years.
In early 2013, after 11 years of operation, the owner of the first in Latvia, Argolat, started the insolvency process, but in December 2015 Peders Rathlefs opened a restaurant and the night club "Old Vikings", which stopped working this year, reports "ranajnieki.lv".
In 2016, for 665 thousand euros, SIA Rigaburger, which manages the chain of fast food restaurant "Hesburger" in Latvia, bought the former building and the land of the rocky café.
