In order to evacuate the high risk fire in a hangar near Janogu Street, it was necessary to close the traffic on the Maskavas street from No.440 to house No.460. This means that the entire Maskavas street, which runs along the Rumbula market for used cars, is closed. Therefore, it is currently not possible to reach Krustpils Street via Maskavas Street.
According to the press service of the SGB, Inta Palkavniece, the fire brigade received a call at 3.48 am to Moscow Street, where smoke was visible, as agency LETA informed. When the firefighters arrived at the location of the event, it turned out that a large open area covered the building of the hangar type.
Meanwhile, the traffic on the Maskavas Street in Rumbula has been partly restored, namely towards the center of Riga, it takes place on two of the three lanes, but in the direction of the center of Riga – a lane, the agency informed LETA the State Police.
Buses 15, 18 and 31 may be delayed due to traffic restrictions.
As reported, at 4:40 pm, firefighters received a phone call to Moscow Street in Riga where smoke was visible. When the firefighters arrived at the location of the event, it turned out that a large open area covered the building of the hangar type.
To eliminate this high-risk fire, 45 firefighters were rescued at the scene of the event, as well as closed traffic on the main section of Maskavas Street.
