Believing that education is the mainstay of progress in Arab countries and societies and one of the most important foundations of Arab national security, the Arab Parliament has prepared a ‘Document for the Development of Education in the Arab World’ as a reference document for the development of education in Arab countries with the aim of establishing a high-quality Arab education system and qualifying educational frameworks capable of preparing A prominent and creative generation who have the knowledge and skills necessary for future jobs and are able to advance her society and contribute to the advancement of her country, increase the share of expenditure on education from the national product, meet the necessary needs for the educational process and constantly review current curricula and teaching methods, keep up with the mondia le development and use the latest educational resources, and Education outcomes with the needs and requirements of the labor market.

The “Education Development Document in the Arab World” aims to provide appropriate solutions to improve the quality of education in the Arab world, to prepare modern and advanced educational curricula based on the concepts of creativity, innovation and constructive critical thinking, support scientific research and improve the competitiveness of Arab educational institutions, in addition to exchanging experiences between Arab countries. In the field of reform, development and promotion of education in all its stages and fields.

In light of the negative consequences that the Corona pandemic has caused in the Arab countries and around the world in recent months, distance learning has become one of the major solutions that many Arab countries have resorted to in order to adapt to the new reality that has caused this pandemic. The “Education Development Document in the Arab World” devoted a great deal of attention to distance learning and devoted an entire axis to it, as it is one of the options for teaching, requiring a modern technological infrastructure, controls to be put in place and new laws. enacted, teachers and students must be prepared and trained in this new type of education and environment being offered. And, believing that the development of the education system begins with the proper preparation of the teacher and the acquisition of modern teaching skills, the document is about preparing the teacher for his professional and educational development, as well as the many skills he needs. to keep up with intellectual, cognitive and technological developments.

And because of the importance of discussing the document with educational decision-makers in the Arab countries, today Wednesday 6 Safar 1442 AH, which corresponds to September 23, 2020, a meeting of education ministers in the Arab world will be held to present the “Document for to discuss the development of education in the Arab world ”, organized by the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the direction of Dr. Hamad Al Sheikh, Education Minister, and the participation of Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary General of the League of Arab States and Director General of the Arab Organization for Education, Culture and Science (ALECSO). There is no doubt that the exchange of views between those responsible for the educational process in the Arab countries on this document will enrich the document and add more important practical aspects to it, based on the different educational experiences in the Arab countries. The Arab Parliament will review this document in the light of the comments and recommendations that will emerge from the meeting.

The host of the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for this important Arab ministerial meeting will coincide with the celebration of the 90th National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a good opportunity to highlight the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the area of ​​support and development of education in its various stages, in light of the many initiatives, steps and specific programs it has taken. Saudi Arabia to modernize its education system, including the Lifelong Learning Initiative, which is one of the pillars of the Kingdom’s vision for 2030, which has succeeded in reducing illiteracy to less than 6.5 percent, modern technology in apply the educational process, qualify and train specialized teaching staff, update curricula and use artificial intelligence techniques. Which won the praise of many international organizations, and the establishment of advanced Saudi universities with all qualitative disciplines was able to lead the ranks and international rankings and be among the most prestigious universities in the world.

In conclusion, the process of educational development in Arab countries is an inevitable and urgent necessity that must be started and not slowed down. There is no renaissance, progress and economic growth without further education. Therefore, the Arab Parliament was preparing a “Document for the Development of Education in the Arab World” as an Arab reference document that includes the basic pillars and principles governing the development of education in the Arab countries.
