Industry data released on Friday showed that the number of new car registrations in Britain fell by 27.4% year-on-year in November as England spent most of the month in its second national lockdown.

The Association of Automakers and Dealers said sales were 113,781 cars, if an option to buy and receive online from showrooms and delivery options was used.

“The approval of a new vaccine could improve the confidence of businesses and consumers this industry relies on as the industry is more optimistic towards the end of the year,” said Mike Howes, CEO of the association.
