Experiment in the kitchen: choose the most delicious pickles, but the inscription on the package unpleasantly surprised me

However, when choosing cucumbers in various supermarkets in Vilnius, a not very pleasantly surprised fact was noticed – wherever you look, you will not be able to find Lithuanian cucumbers with a lamp.

Some of the pickles in the store come from Turkey, Poland, Ukraine and even India! It is true that some labels on the jars are marked “Made in Lithuania” or even display the Lithuanian tricolor, but the real country of origin of the cucumbers is referred to as the EU.

Therefore, if it already proudly states on the label that it was made in Lithuania, it is likely that there is a non-Lithuanian name under the EU mark. All that remains is to guess where they came from and why it is so difficult to find real Lithuanian cucumbers, where the country of origin – Lithuania – would be indicated.

The prices of all cucumbers are roughly the same, and it is not the price of the jar (since all the pots have different capacities) that is calculated, but the price of the net weight of the cucumbers. So we have not compared them by price.
