The president received letters of credibility from the ambassador of India

During the meeting with the new ambassador there was talk about an improved bilateral dialogue, bilateral discussions and business relations. According to the leader of the country, it is important to develop economic cooperation between Lithuania and India in the field of advanced technology, biotechnology and financial technologies.

Cooperation between universities of both countries and mutual tourism opportunities, cultural relations were also discussed. In the 2017-2018 school year, nearly 1,000 Indian citizens studied in Lithuania.

Last week, the president presented credentials to Julius Pranevičius, the newly appointed ambassador of Lithuania in India.

T. Namgyal is the tenth ambassador from India to Lithuania. The diplomat previously worked at the Indian embassies in Cairo, Tunisia, Brussels, Singapore and Ottawa. 2015-2018 m. Went to ambassador in Havana, later from 2018 Ambassador in Poland. The diplomat lives in Warsaw.
