TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – National Narcotics Agency (BNN) successfully attempted to smuggle 10 kg of crystal meth from Malaysia in West Kalimantan, Sunday 19 August. Three perpetrators were arrested in Kubu Raya District.

"Three narcotics are being arrested, namely Budi, Yusup and Gunawan," said BNN's Head for Drug Eradication Affairs Insp. General Arman Depari via a short message in Jakarta, August 20.

The illicit drugs were smuggled through Kuching, Malaysia, on an illegal route, given the lack of supervision. In addition to 10 kilograms of crystal meth, officers confiscated three hand-held telephones, two motorcycles, and IDs from convicts.

Arman explained that the arrest was based on the reports from the community and the analysis of the intelligent team. During the bust performed by BNN on Sunday at about 11 am Gunawan ran away, but then he was arrested in the house near the river Beliung, West Pontianak.
