Ducati rider in coma after being trampled by cows in Malaysia, Latest World News

ERMAISURI: A Ducati Diavel motorcyclist is in a coma after about 30 cows have sued him while riding a convoy in Malaysia.

Mr. Anuar Abd Rahim (49) was trampled by the cows and suffered serious injuries, the New Straits Times reported.

The incident occurred around two o'clock on Friday near a Petronas petrol station in Merang.

He was part of a convoy of 20 cyclists who were on their way to lunch and made their way from Batu Rakit, Kuala Terengganu to Penarik, Setiu, reported the newspaper.

His wife, Mrs. Dewi Rosita Abdul Rahim, who was in the same convoy and drove her Ducati Monster about 10 meters ahead of her husband, said she could control her machine when some of the cows attacked her.

"My husband and I were the last two riders in the convoy and the rest of the riders had safely pulled away from the area.

"We drove at a moderate speed on our bikes and suddenly a herd of about 30 cows that were initially on our left started to charge us.

"One of the cows (slapped) my left leg, but I could still operate my bike to prevent it from falling," said Mrs. Dewi, 48, when they contacted.

They were taken to the Sultanah Nur Zahirah hospital in Kuala Terengganu.

"My husband stays in intensive care and is still unconscious," said Mrs. Dewi.

"The doctors did not inform me when my husband could go home, but I was told that it depends on his condition."
