JOHOR BARU, Aug. 28 – Along with his first visit to Mongolia, the Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar met the president of the country, Khaltmaagiin Battulga, today.
According to a message on Facebook from the Johor Sultan (FB) the meeting took place in a yurt (a traditional Mongolian house) in the State House in the capital Ulaanbaatar.
His Majesty was accompanied by Tunku Panglima Johor, Tunku Abdul Rahman Al-Haj Sultan Ibrahim and several deputies from the government of the state of Johor.
This was followed by a briefing from Mongolian government officials who emphasized the many business opportunities and investment opportunities of the nation, especially in real estate development.
Sultan Ibrahim was also happy to spend time visiting the Mongolian Gobi cashmere plant in Ulaanbaatar, known for its high-quality clothing.
Mongolia is one of the largest producers of cashmere in the world and it is the country's second largest export.
The FB posting also said that Sultan Ibrahim and the delegation would also visit Tsonjin Boldog tomorrow. It is the site of the equestrian statue of the Genghis Khan, a 40 meter high statue built in honor of the first king of the Mongolian Empire. – Bernama
