PUTRAJAYA: Minister of Education Dr Maszlee Malik is confident that the members of the National Education Advisory Board (MPPK) of the session 2018-2021 will have an objective view on the development of an education system that is both holistic and inclusive.

In an article he wrote when he was in Mecca to perform the haj, he said that the composition of the MPPK symbolized the ideals of creating a globally competitive ecosystem of education, while cherishing three core values: happiness, affection and respect.

Maszlee said that four new MPPK members would be appointed after legislative changes.

They include teachers from Sabah and Sarawak and those from the Indian community, in addition to the existing seven members.

The MPPK 2018-2021, which came into effect on 1 August, drew anti-aircraft guns from various angles, including the Islamic Academy of Sciences in Malaysia (Asasi), about the appointment of some of its members who are considered & # 39; unqualified & # 39; were considered.

However, Maszlee believed that the chairman of the MPPK, Tan Sri Wan Zahid Mohd Noordin, a former director general and former MPPK chairman of the session 2010-2012, would advise him accordingly.

"His (Wan Zahid) ambitions are clear, to ensure that education must be approached in the same way and to generate competitive students all over the world, the values ​​of love and compassion must be imparted and learning must be fun at school", said the Minister of Education. Education.

He added that while MPPK Vice Chairman Tan Sri Yong Poh Kon was a corporate figure, his expertise would help improve the employability of graduates in the industry and reduce unemployment.

Maszlee said that the five other MPPK members, namely Datin Noor Azimah Abdul Rahim, Datuk Satinah Syed Saleh, Datuk Dr. Sukiman Sarmani, Brigadier General Datuk Yusri Anwar and Prof Dr Ruzita Mohd Amin, also represented the main stakeholders in the educational system. – Bernama
