PKR polls: Azmin takes the lead in Johor

JOHOR BAHRU: Mohamed Azmin Ali participates in the PKR vice presidency and collected 4,503 votes in Johor yesterday against his rival Rafizi Ramli, who won 3,976.

Azmin is the incumbent vice president, while Rafizi is vice president.

PKR Central Election Commission Vice President Adzman Hedra said the committee was satisfied with the electoral process in the state where 24 party departments were involved.

He said, however, that only 10,725 of the 37,934 eligible members in Johor had their vote yesterday.

Voter turnout was 39.29% in Segamat, 39.77% in Pagoh, 37.10% in Kulai, 35.92% in Sekijang, 34.07% in Simpang Renggam, 30.81% in Bakri and 30.61% in Parit Sulong. Other divisions saw a turnout of between 11.72% and 28.77%.

The polls show 53 candidates who dispute the function of division heads, while 163 others question the function of deputy chiefs, vice-chiefs and committee members.
