Review allegations against medical marijuana wearer on death row

KUALA LUMPUR, September 18 – Premier Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad today agreed to the need to review charges against a marijuana distributor who receives the death penalty for helping patients with chronic diseases.

Earlier this week, PKR & # 39; s Permatang Pauh MP Nurul Izzah Anwar said she would challenge the case with Prosecutor General (AG) Tommy Thomas.

"No, I think we should review that," Dr. Mahathir said in a short answer, when he was asked to comment on the case.

Muhammad Lukman (29) was accused of possessing, processing and distributing cannabis oil under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which has the death penalty. He was convicted by the High Court on 30 August and sentenced to imprisonment.
