KAMPAR: Three cousins ​​on their way home were killed after the vehicle they were in crashed on the back of a truck on the North-South highway.

Kampar OCPD Supt Ng Kong Soon said Nishan Singh Dhillon Baidev Singh, 30, the driver, Rajminder Singh Niranjan Singh, 26, and Gurdial Singh Swaran Singh, 28, all died on the spot in the 4:20 am incident yesterday.

"The residents in the 4WD were thrown out of the vehicle behind – before the landing of the truck crashing against a crash barrier before landing on its side," said Supt Ng, adding that a post-mortem would be carried out in the Kampar Hospital.

Supt Ng said A. Vellusamy, 40, the driver of the truck, who wore newspapers, suffered serious injuries.

"He is being treated at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun hospital," he said, adding that the truck driver was also on his way to Bidor.

The incident will be investigated under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act for reckless driving sulting in death.
