Former Khazanah ED Shahazwan joins robo-advising startup Stashaway – Business News

PETALING JAYA: Former executive director of investment at Khazanah Nasional Bhd, Mohd Shahazwan Mohd Harris, has joined Startup Stashaway, an investment advice platform or more known as a robo advisor.

Stashaway said Thursday that Shahazwan joined the company's advisory committee, along with Morgan Stanley Singapore, former CEO Sim Hwee Hoon and Dr Pranay Gupta, former head of multi-asset strategies at Temaseks Fullerton Fund Management.

Shahazwan has more than 20 years of experience in investments, asset management and portfolio management, restructuring, business strategy and development.

He is currently a senior adviser to Bain & Co. and was previously a business advisor to Temasek International (Singapore), with an emphasis on sustainability and impact investing.

He is also a board member of UMW Holdings Bhd and UEM Edgenta Bhd .

He worked for 11 years at Khazanah and held the role of director, investment, leadership and covering various sectors in the last four years, including aviation, infrastructure, sustainable development, healthcare and technology.

He holds a Sloan Fellows MBA from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), MSc (Advanced Mech Eng) from Imperial College, London, and a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from University of Warwick, UK.

Stashaway is a Singapore-based robo advisor startup. In November, the company was given the green light to offer its service in Malaysia after obtaining a license for the capital market services of the Securities Commission (SC).

One of the co-founders of Stashaway is Michele Ferrario, formerly the chief executive officer of Zalora, the fashion e-commerce platform of Southeast Asia.

Prior to his four year period at Zalora, Ferrario founded the Italian and Pakistani activities of Rocket Internet.
