Investing.com – Gold prices hit lows in the $ 1,700 region on Friday as risk appetite in financial markets led more safe haven money into equities.

At 9:05 a.m.ET (14:05 GMT), Comex in New York was down $ 29.40, or 1.6% to $ 1,1776.10. It previously fell to $ 1,772.65, a low not seen since June, when it fell to an intraday low of $ 1,690.10.
