IPOHThe Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has arrested the chief executive officer of a subsidiary of the Perak government for allegedly submitting false documents to Perak’s Secretary of State for approval.
Magistrate Umzarul An Nur Umar today issued a two-day pre-trial detention order against the 45-year-old man for investigation under section 18 of the MACC Act 2009.
Sources said the CEO was arrested at Perak MACC’s office at around 3:45 p.m. yesterday.
The documents related to the offer letter for appointment as CEO to a permanent post with a monthly salary of RM 20,000, while minutes of a meeting of the state government on December 8, 2017 stated that it was a contract item.
