TEEM removes two local plurisdeputations to Morena and PT; grants them to the PRI

Morelia, Michoacán. – The Electoral Court of the State of Michoacán (TEEM) renamed the parties of Labor (PT) and the National Regenerative Movement (Morena) the archives of two municipal councils granted by the Electoral Institute of Michoacán via the multi-headed channel, reassign them to the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI).

Despite the recent threat from the national leadership of Morena, Carmen Marcela Casillas, representative of the IEM PT and Wilma Zavala Ramírez, their position in the local Congress was removed to open both spaces for the PRI members Omar Antonio Carreón Abud and Marisol Aguilar Aguilar.

The TEEM reassignment criteria were based, as stated in the public session held on a new basis this Sunday, based on the precedents set out in resolutions of the Supreme Court of Justice and the regional chamber in Toluca. of the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Power of the Federation, and the decision was taken with three of the five possible votes of the magistrates in favor of the penalty.

Two reasons supported the split decision of TEEM, the first being based on an alleged error by the IEM which, in order to distribute the deputy members, counts the votes of the parties who have not obtained the 3 percent needed to keep their registration; the second reason was derived from the under-representation that the PRI would have in the state congress, a constitutionally established criterion.

The redistribution ordered by the TEEM this Sunday leaves the PRI with six multiple deputies, three for the National Action Party, three more for the PRD, two spaces for the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico, one for the Citizens' Movement and one for Morena.
