The Maya train will be opened within three or four years: AMLO

Palenque.- The President-elect, Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), assured in a press conference that the elected representatives of Chiapas and Tabasco will have the opportunity to initiate the work three or four years.

The constitutional and elected governors of the southern states of the country: Chiapas, Campeche, Quintana Roo, Tabasco and Yucatan, supported the Mayan construction project, which will generate 20 thousand jobs in the beginning, will allow the migration to be controlled and influence on the economic and social development of that region.

After meeting with the state leaders, AMLO said it is a project of the Government of the Republic for the development of the nation, for the benefit of one of the most important regions of the country and the world because of its cultural, artistic and archaeological wealth.

Accompanied by the governors, he pointed out that this project will make use of three road rights, the railway of the country, of roads managed by the Ministry of Communications and Transport (SCT), and high-voltage lines, which is managed by the Federal Commission of Electricity (CFE).

He added that it is a project with mixed investments, national, private and foreign, with priority for national private investment, and through the use of priority rights, no major ecological effects, or private ownership of more than a thousand 500 kilometers.

He added that this meeting is part of the launch of the comprehensive development program of the Southeast and that the governors of Chiapas, Manuel Velasco, and Tabasco, Arturo Núñez, will begin the program; in that they will have to inaugurate those of Campeche and Quintana Roo.

He also assured that he would pay attention to the project to prevent delays and explained that the train has three modes: tfreight engraving, passengers with local and regional transport, with a more accessible price; and for tourism with higher costs, and will influence the population of the five states with their start-up.
