The majority of cases diagnosed in the past 24 hours come from the Rimouski-Neigette MRC, with 32 cases out of 45, out of a total of 324 individuals who have contracted COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic . The other cases noted in recent hours come from the MRCs of La Matanie, Rivière-du-Loup, La Mitis, Témiscouata and Basques. The latter MRC registers the least number of infections with 12. On Wednesday 926 screening tests were carried out.

In addition, the outbreak at the Résidence des Sages de Matane is stable. Of the 31 cases, 15 users and 4 employees were cured. However, the virus killed three people. The outbreak is over at the Résidence des Bâtisseurs. “As of today, we no longer have active positive cases throughout the residence,” delighted the establishment’s general manager, Jean Cyr, who was happy to announce it to residents. The coronavirus will still have infected 90 of them and employees, in addition to including six elderly people. Moreover, the outbreak in a hospital ward in the Center hospitalier régional de Rimouski has not changed. For now, the toll remains on five health workers infected with the virus.

Call for screening in Rimouski

The Bas-Saint-Laurent Public Health Service is launching a call for targeted screening for two institutions in Rimouski. All people who attended Club santé 2000 between November 25 and December 1, as well as all customers of the bar Le Ti-Québec between November 27 and 30, are asked to take a screening test.
