QNew deaths are joining the Capitale National, where 459 people died from complications related to the virus. A total of 12,250 people have been declared positive for COVID-19 since the start of the health crisis in this area.

In addition to 86 new cases, two deaths were added to the figures for this region in the last 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths related to COVID-19 to 138. The two people whose deaths are announced today lived respectively with CHSLD Marc-André-Jacques in East Broughton and CHSLD Paul-Gilbert in Lévis.

These CHSLDs are among the 17 active outbreaks in residential or care settings in the Chaudière-Appalaches region. In fact, five of today’s new cases came from CHSLD Paul-Gilbert in Lévis, where 23 users are currently suffering from COVID-19 in addition to 14 employees.

As yesterday, 20 other active outbreaks have involved schools and 34 businesses. The total number of recorded outbreaks in this area remains at 71.

Since March last year, 5,615 people have received positive test results for this virus in Chaudière-Appalaches. Of these, 587 cases are still considered active.

Currently 31 people are in hospital (+1), of which 7 in intensive care (+1).
