Moroccan Meriem Othmani knighted the Legion of Honor

Ms Meriem Othmani, president and founder of the association "Insaf" (National Institute for Solidarity with Women in Distress), appears in the promotion of 1 January of the Legion of Honor, Tuesday announced by the Grand Chancery of the Legion of honor.

This promotion brings a total of 402 people together with an exact parity between 345 knights, 42 officers, 9 commanders, 4 senior officers and 2 grand Croix, said the Great Chancellor of the Legion of Honor in a statement.

The national order of the legendary chivalry of honor rewards the services (cultural, economic …) donated to France or the goals it defends (defense of human rights, press freedom, humanitarian causes …).

The promotion of the Legion of Honor on 1 January 2019 is accompanied by a special promotion for the World Cup, in which the team of France is rewarded after his victory at the World Cup in 2018.

The Legion of Honor, founded by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1802, is the highest of the French national awards. Today it has 92,000 members, who are rewarded for their outstanding earnings in the service of France or for the goals it defends.
