The subject was not on the menu of yesterday's oral question session on Monday, but it was inevitable! Education minister Saaid Amzazi had to explain the issue of GMT + 1 in response to a motion to "the wave of student demonstrations against school hours" from the group Authenticity and Modernity in the House of Representatives.
Amzazi ensured that the directors of the Regional Academies for Education and Training (AREF) conducted important communication campaigns to schools to ensure the safety and comfort of students.
And to remind that the ministry had decided to charge the directors of the AREFs with determining the most suitable formula, depending on the specific characteristics of each region.
This decision is explained by the consideration of the territorial characteristics and the proximity of the directors of the academies to teachers, students and their families, he noted and added that just after the approval of the time of summer, his department interacted positively with families.
Regarding the protests of some students against the preservation of daylight saving time, the minister said that people outside the education system encourage students not to attend classes and go out on the streets, by calling parents and teachers to guide the students.
