The ANP board establishes an ambitious program for 2019

The National Port Authority held its Board of Directors on Friday 28 December 2018 at the headquarters of the Ministry of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water. During this session, which was devoted to the review of the ANP budgets for the year 2019, the Board of Directors adopted an ambitious program with an envelope of 3.1 billion dirhams, of which 1.5 billion dirhams alone for the year 2019.

This year will be marked by the launch of new development projects, including (i) the expansion of the port of Jebha, (ii) the construction of the pipe bundle in the port of Jorf Lasfar, (iii) the development of the dry harbor and ( iv) the development of a truck parking space in the Zenata region.

In the field of maritime trade, the year 2019 would handle a traffic volume of more than 90 million tonnes, an increase of 4.5%. This increase is mainly due to the (i) strong expected rebound in foreign sales of phosphates and derivatives and (ii) the increase in imports of coal, after the commissioning of the new power plant. Safi.

Regarding regulation, this year will be characterized by the consolidation of the Agency's reference framework, according to a dynamic approach involving all players in the port ecosystem. This year this will be marked in particular by (i) the concession of the new shipyard of the port of Casablanca, (ii) the operationalization of the observatory for the competitiveness of the port and (ii) the strengthening of the operational regulations.

In terms of budget projections, the Agency's revenue for the year 2019 will exceed the milestone of 1.9 billion dirhams, which represents an increase of 8.8% compared to the projected performance of the year 2018.
