A wind of renewal blows on Marrakech with the appointment of Mr Karim Kassi-Lahlou, new Wali of the Marrakech-Safi region, by King Mohammed VI, Friday 24 August 2018.
It is official, Mr Karim Kassi-Lahlou is the new Wali of the Marrakech-Safi region, governor of the prefecture of Marrakech. Born on 2 July 1968 in the Khémisset region, this former engineer from the Ministry of Industry, Trade, Energy and Mines, was appointed Director of the Regional Investment Center of the Souss-Massa-Draa region in May 2002.
In October 2006 he was appointed governor of the province of Ifrane, then governor attached to the central administration of the Ministry of Interior in November 2010. Karim Kassi-Lahlou then takes charge of the economic capital in May 2012, where he was appointed as governor of the district prefecture of Casablanca-Anfa, before taking up the position of governor, director of general affairs, in 2016.
