The budget for scholarships increased by 150.6% between 2012 and 2018. The ministry is working on the preparation of a new decree aimed at students from poor families.
A total of 381,783 scholarships must be awarded before the start of the academic year 2018-19, of which 162,283 new scholarships for the three cycles (Bachelor, Master and Doctorate), said Monday, October 15 Said Amzazi, Minister of Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Responding to an oral question about the "standards for the award of university scholarships" presented by the PJD in the Lower House, Mr. Amzazi said that 147,845 new Moroccan graduates hold scholarshipswhich has coverage of 73% at national level.
This percentage rises to 80% in 19 provinces without university facilities and cities, while it reached 100% in 14 provinces, namely the southern provinces of Jerada and Figuig.
Moreover, the budget is allocated to scholarships from 718 MDH to 1,800 MDH between 2012 and 2018, an increase of 150.6%.
A new decree
To further promote equal opportunities in terms of access to the stock market, the ministry is examining the preparation ofa new decree aimed at students from poor families and based on social criteria. the The calendar of the academic year will also be taken into account when paying scholarships.
