Morocco: train Tangier-Oujda catches fire

In the early hours of Saturday, September 1, fire broke out on a train from Tangier to Oujda. In a statement, the National Office of Railways (ONCF) showed that the TO train connects Tangier with Oujda, arrested between Ain Taoujtate and Rass El Ma after "firing a fire at the exhaust pipe of his locomotive under conditions that remain undetermined" .

"As a safety measure, all passengers on this train were immediately evacuated," he added, adding that "the intervention of firefighters and ONCF teams has made it possible to keep the fire under control."

In addition, passengers were cared for and another train was made available to continue their journey.

The ONCF says it has opened an investigation to determine the circumstances of this incident, which have not yet been determined.
