Taoufiq Benali appointed governor, director of the Casablanca Urban Agency (AUC) took office on 31 August.
The new director will manage the urban affairs of the city, which covers an area of approximately 1,050 km² with a population of more than 3.4 million people.
The AUC is called upon to redouble its efforts to fulfill its missions in terms of implementing the Urban Development Master Plan (SDAU), to formulate opinions on subdivision, fragmentation and construction projects. as well as to guide and guide rehabilitation and development plans.
The action of the new Governor-CEO of the AUC will focus on the following projects:
– The implementation of the third installment of the program with regard to buildings threatening the destruction (restoration of the old medina);
– Support for the Greater Casablanca 2015-2020 development plan and the relocation program for slum dwellers;
– The generalization of management plans in the municipalities under his authority;
– Stimulating a favorable investment climate by adopting urban planning documents in which the principles of management and organization are combined.
