Zeeland – A sailboat from Team Heiner from Lelystad capsized and sank off the coast of Neeltje Jans on the North Sea. That happened during a cruise from the Zeeland Breskens to The Hague. No one was injured.
The KNRM tried to drag the yacht away, but the ship overturned through the wild sea. The sailing yacht sank on the spot. The sailors themselves were released with the shock. The salvage of the ship has been transferred to the Coast Guard. It is a sailing boat from Team Heiner, a sailing company for top athletes. The sailors were on their way from Breskens to The Hague. They had participated in the Breskens Sailing Weekend last weekend, a race off the coast of Zeeuws-Vlaanderen.
The Coast Guard has sent a navigation warning. The sailing yacht is just below the water surface and is therefore dangerous for other boats sailing there. A salvor will later try to take the boat away. (Broadcasting Flevoland, Omroep Zeeland)
