Four young children suffered light burns on Sunday afternoon when an explosion occurred on the boat they wanted to start. The boat was on the side in the Amstel near Amstelveen.
Two children were quickly put in the shower, after which all four were taken to the hospital. They were quite startled, says a spokesman for the fire department.
The boat has little damage. The fire brigade suspects that it was "a blaze or explosion".
