For the time being BMW offers the Z4 as sDrive20i, sDrive30i and as M40i, engine versions that are always linked to an automatic transmission. BMW reports that the sDrive20i will soon also be available with a manual six-speed gearbox, and that is good news for those who prefer to play poker themselves. The rest of the BMW line-up will also have to deal with adjustments and additions.
This summer BMW is launching the sub-topper of the new 3-series, the 374 hp M340i xDrive. That until the arrival of a new M3 topper of the 3 family is able to sprint in 4.4 counts to a speed of 100 km / h. Nice and nice, but it is not exactly the most accessible variant. BMW reports it this summer the 320i, 330i and 330d also with xDrivefour-wheel drive. For the time being, the 320d in the Netherlands is the only 3-series with drive on all four wheels. The 330th also comes on the market in the second half of this year, the previously presented plug-in version that must be able to drive up to 60 kilometers electrically. Other 3-series news: BMW will soon also make the M Sport chassis available for the regular flavors of the 3-series Sedan. An adaptive M-chassis will also be included in the price list of the sedan versions. Smaller news relates to the expansion of the color palette and the list of materials and colors with which the interior can be finished. BMW also places a set of new alloy wheels on the order list.
The subtopper of the 5 series, the M550i xDrive, gets an update. The 462 horsepower and 650 Nm strong 4.4-liter salute V8 that is currently in the nose of the M550i, is being modernized and will receive two larger turbos, among other things. The power increases up to a certain non-tender 530 hp and 750 Nm. The block is linked to an eight-speed automatic. BMW is also making changes at the other end of the spectrum. Plug-in 530e gets a larger action radius and becomes available with xDrive drive. BMW does not mention the capacity of the new battery pack yet. The combined power of the powertrain remains at 252 hp. As with the rest of the BMW range, further adjustments relate to the arrival of new wheels and finishing options. The M550i xDrive and M550d xDrive Sedan are optionally equipped with BMW Laser Light with BMW Selective Beam technology.
To date, we only know the 8 series as M850i xDrive and as 840d xDrive. Of course we know that an M8 is coming, but also "at the bottom" of the gas list has BMW news in the barrel. The 8 series will be available as a 340 hp 840i. Indeed, without the 'xDrive' addition and that means that this version is rear-wheel-driven, although there are also xDrive flavors. Both the Coupé and Cabrio will be available with this engine. BMW also puts new M Sport seats on the menu and the brand complements the color palette and option list.
X2, X3 and X4
Smaller adjustments relate to the X2, X3 and X4. The X2 will soon have standard adaptive LED headlights and LED fog lamps. In addition, the M Spot brake, which is standard on the M35i, will soon also be ordered on every other X2. We also find new materials for the interior here as well as new 18 and 19-inch light metals on the list of novelties. The optional navigation display now measures 8.8 inches instead of the current 6.5-inch. If you order Navigation Plus, you get a screen with a diameter of 10.25 inches.
The X3 and X4 get optional M Sport seats and BMW offers new exterior options for the X3 M40i and X4 M40d and the X3 and X4 become available as M Sport Individual, versions packed with sporty extras, Individual paint, special 21 -inch light metal and an extra opulent leather-covered interior.
X5 and X7
Yes, also new engines for the X5. The recently extended SUV of the BMW family is currently available as a 340 hp xDrive40i, a 265 hp xDrive30d and a 400 hp M50d xDrive. On the international motorcycle list BMW will also put an xDrive25d later, a four-cylinder diesel that delivers 231 hp and 450 Nm. The block is linked to an eight-speed automatic. Perhaps even more interesting: the X5 will soon be available as xDrive45e, a plug-in hybrid with a six-in-line nose that interacts with an electric motor. The combined capacity is 394 hp. A sprint from a standstill to a speed of 100 km / h is done in 5.6 seconds. The car must be able to drive up to 80 kilometers electrically. The option list is expanded with new colors and new sets of light metal. The adjustments to the X7 are purely related to colors and materials for the interior and exterior.
M4 Coupé and M4 Cabrio
Starting this summer the M4 Coupé and M4 Cabrio come as standard with a 450 hp Competition. That means it is over with the 431 horsepower regular M flavors. This is most likely due to the fact that the 4-series will be replaced by a new generation in the foreseeable future and therefore the delivery range will be 'streamlined'.
Please note, all of the above relates to the international delivery list. Which new versions are coming to our country exactly, will become clear in the coming months.
