Most people on board and crew are allowed to depart from the 'maze ship' Freewinds, which is located in Curaçao. The Curacao government has not discovered any new cases of measles aboard the cruise ship.
28 people still have to stay behind, they will be monitored in the coming days. Epidemiologist Izzy Gerstenbluth announced this.
Recently, about forty people were also allowed to disembark. On Sundays around 250 can go. The group of 28 people must remain on board until Tuesday, May 14, as the disease can still manifest itself the day before.
On April 28, measles was detected by a female crew member of the Scientology movement's cruise ship.
Infection limited to one person
From that moment the ship remained in quarantine on the island of Saint Lucia. Last Saturday it docked again in the port of Curaçao, the fixed base of the cruise ship. All 318 persons on board were checked there. Research has shown that measles infection on the Freewinds cruise ship was limited to one person.
The ship also visited Aruba last month. The government recently announced that no measles cases were found on the land.
