The two principal investigators write in a statement that only a parliamentary inquiry is 'sufficiently armed' to gain insight into the integrity problems in the port of Rotterdam.
The researchers examined incidents in the port between the period 1996-2016 and interviewed 119 people about it.
In addition, they discovered quite a few things that were never investigated. In their attempts to find out why that did not happen, the researchers encountered resistance. For example, they did not have access to written sources.
