A man caught five times driving over the legal blood alcohol limit trying to destroy the evidence of his crime – September 2, 2018



The 36-year-old William Erewiti Stead Maxwell blew in more than 12-hundred micrograms
a breath test, before asking to take a blood sample.

This revealed that he had 200 and sixty-one milligrams of alcohol in his hand
system – the legal limit is 50 milligrams.

The summary of facts says after completing the blood collection process and blood
the tubes were sealed in a kit box – William Maxwell grabbed the box from
table, dropped it on the floor and jumped up.

He offered no explanation why he jumped on the box when he came in
the Hutt Valley District Court on Friday.

He has seven previous convictions for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
had a zero-alcohol license at that time.

The conviction is set for 24 October.
