Road reopens after forklift falls from truck on Great South Rd in Otahuhu

Great South Rd in South Auckland has reopened after a fall on the southward lane.

Auckland Transport previously warned that there was a crash that blocked the left southern lane on Great South Rd in Otahuhu at the junction of Bairds Rd.

The road was closed only for traffic to the south at Mangere Rd. Emergency services were site and motorists were asked to follow their directions.

A spokesperson for the police said they had been called at around 12.35 pm for an incident where a fork-lift truck fell from the rear of a truck and blocked both lanes to the south.

It was reported that there were heavy traffic jams in the area.
