Alosio Taimo has not been guilty of 83 charges in the past 29 years with regard to 18 victims.

Some of the offensive facts would have happened in a school sports shed and at Mr. Taimo's house.

The 55-year-old lawsuit is meant to hear evidence from the victims, their relatives and police officers at the High Court in Auckland.

Many of the witnesses are expected to testify on closed television.

The trial, for Justice Moore and a jury, takes an estimated 10 weeks.
