Traffic across all three lanes stopped to let the ducks pass.
In a bizarre incident, a group of ducks crossing the road brought a busy highway to a standstill.
In a video shared by Aukland's transport department on Twitter, vehicles are seen stopping to get a mama duck to be carried away with her ducklings that cross the road near Tristram Avenue.
The New Zealand police then rescued the ducks in safety, said the tweet.
"It is heart-warming to see that traffic stops over three lanes to allow the ducks to pass and to reach the other side safely", a Twitter user responded.
The gesture led to more users of social media applauding the efforts of the motorists and the police.
