In the "Bilen Min" column, Broom.no readers have the opportunity to tell a bit about their own or their own cars, and a bit about their car interests.
That a pick-up is a handy car, most people agree. It can be used for so much. Everything from driving strawballs and europalls to tools and other equipment.
But it can also be converted into a rugged and rugged camping and expedition car. It's just the 34-year-old Ingvar from Steinkjer has done with his VW Amarok. Not only that, he has also tested it for a really long journey now
summer.
This is his story about both the car and himself:
The car:
Brand and model: VW Amarok, 2012 model. 163 hp. diesel and manual gear.
How long have you had it: The car was bought a little more than three years ago, when it was originally original.
What did you do with it: It has been rebuilt at Arctic Trucks in Drammen, AT33 reconstruction. That is, 33-inch wheels, widths and lifts. Afterwards it is equipped with extra light air bellows
on the rear axle, hardtop tents and canopy of the alu-cabin. Inside, the GPS and iPad are mounted. Behind the chairs is furnished with refrigerator and storage for different equipment. An extra battery is installed in the car with a dual battery system.
With this bus you are the hardest at the campsite
What do you like most about the car: Enjoy the comfort of the car and that there are minor problems with it.
What do you like at least with the car: That it can not be converted into an even bigger and more difficult AT35 …
Best experience with the car: Not able to sign a special, but have a lot of good experiences on different tours with this.
We use it a lot and like to travel to explore new places. This summer we were on Lofoten, Nordkapp, via Finland to Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. There were many nice experiences on that trip.
Future plans for the car: The first plan is now to have a built-in storage room and kitchen behind the plane on the car, so that everything can be organized a little easier when we camp.
to dream: Many to choose from, but the choice almost always comes on the Toyota Landcruiser 79 series and perhaps one with 6×6, so pull on all six wheels.
others: This is a car built for "overlanding" or expeditions.
When we travel, we have all the equipment we need and we are self-sufficient for a long time. Only a short trip to the supermarket is sometimes what is needed.
Expedition car: These are the cars for those who want to drive around the world
owner:
name: Ingvar Haugen Hjetland.
Age: I am 34 years old.
Location: Steinkjer in Trøndelag
A bit about myself: Like to travel around to see and experience new things, free time is spent on "countries".
Planning new trips and of course there will be some screwing, because there is always something that can be improved.
