Evacuates houses in Eidsvåg – Bergens Tidende

Large rainfall means that more houses are being evacuated. The police are considering to close the E39 in succession.

A temporary dam has been constructed in connection with the rehabilitation of the Munkebotswater.

Due to heavy rainfall there is a risk that this temporary dam will end up at Munkebotsvann, the municipality reports in a press release.

This can lead to flooding in parts of Eidsvåg.

This also means that the police are considering closing the E39 and the supply routes continuously.

The affected addresses are contacted by the police, the municipality reports.

Evacuates 12-15 homes

"It is a temporary dam that can burst due to the high rainfall, which can lead to floods in the Eidsvåg area.We consider the closure of the E39 with supply routes .It has stopped raining, but there is a lot of water in the area. This is a review that we have made now, "says Anne Iren Fagerbakke, municipal director of Bergens Tidende.

There are 12-15 addresses that the police will contact.

– What is the probability that the temporary dam is missing?

– I do not want to judge it. We want to evacuate the areas and want to ensure that this does not happen. We also do not want to ask walkers to enter this area. We have closed roads and the police are carrying out evacuation, "says Fagerbakke.
