It confirms the Norwegian ski federation on Thursday evening.
Sjur Røthe will have to endure the upcoming World Cup weekend in Davos, Switzerland. Røthe had to go 15 kilometers on Sunday.
The media director of the Norwegian national team, Gro Eide, reports that Røthe was cold.
The 30-year old cross-country skier has experienced a real revival this season, as he has won two World Cups.
Last weekend Røthe made a magnificent victory over Tremila on Beitostølen. The weekend before he won the 10 kilometers at Lillehammer. There were two of his total three world championships in his career.
Vossingen is currently in 2nd place in the World Cup, 32 points behind the Russian leader Aleksandr Bolshjunov.
Mathias Rundgreen replaces Røthe on the 15 kilometer free technique of Sunday. The same distance that Røthe already won this season.
The next time the World Cup starts, it will be in Tour de Ski, starting in Roma Christmas on December 29th.
