The magnitude 7 earthquake that occurred at sunrise on Friday 123 kilometers south of Puerto Esperanza, in the Ucayali region, Peru, was also felt in Brazil, Bolivia and the north of it Chili.
According to preliminary information from the National Seismological Center (CSN) of Chili, the movement had a magnitude of 7.1, with epicenter at 598 kilometers north of Arequipa, at a depth of 624 kilometers.
The Onemi reported that in Arica and Parinacota it was observed with intensity III on the Mercalli scale. No damage is reported to people, changes in basic services or infrastructure resulting from this earthquake.
The Hydrographic and Oceanographic Service of the Navy (SHOA) indicated that the characteristics of the earthquake do not meet the necessary conditions for a tsunami on the coasts of Chili.
According to the Geophysical Institute of Peru (IGP) the earthquake was felt with class III-IV in Puerto Esperanza, in Purús. So far, no material damage or casualties have been reported as a result of the earthquake.
