The President of the Republic, Martín Vizcarra, Said Monday that his government will complete the construction of the new Huarmey hospital in the year 2020. The president traveled to the region Ancash to sign a public investment agreement to improve the services at the site.

"In the year 2020 we committed ourselves to deliver this new fully built hospital to the city of Huarmey," he said when he gave a speech to the people of this city north of Lima.

He specified that in the first six months the technical file of the hospital will be made to meet the needs and demands of the population. He added that the remaining one and a half years are used for the construction of the hospital.

Vizcarra He said that he inspected the country where the new hospital will be built to confirm that there is no problem starting the work, as a possible problem of physical and legal sanitation, which would cause the delay of the work.

"I have noticed that the country is completely free and available and that it is in a safe environment, because a hospital can not be in a flood area, this happened a year and a half ago, when we witnessed that the hospital was completely flooded," he pointed.

The president added that the population of Huarmey should be treated in the old hospital until the completion of the works, so he announced that he has invested S / 5 million to improve hospital infrastructure and to install new medical equipment. take.

Meanwhile, he indicated that he also asked the Minister of Health, Silvia Pessah, how the medical staff in the hospital could be expanded, which is one of the most important demands of the population. He said, however, that this shortage is a problem that all hospitals have at national level.

In addition to Minister Pessah, Vizcarra traveled was supervised by the owner of Housing, Javier Piqué, with whom he supervised the delivery of the house number 7,500 for the victims of the coastal Niño phenomenon of 2017.
