Accompanied by Prime Minister César Villanueva and other members of his cabinet, the president Martín Vizcarra participated in this Sunday of the Executive Muni in Puerto Maldonado, Madre de Dios.
In a previous activity, the president emphasized that 15 ministers accompanied him to the above-mentioned region to attend the event, which aims to coordinate priorities for the provinces and districts and ensure proper implementation of the allocated resources.
In a press conference after the Executive Muni he repeated that the alternative to promote the collection of signatures is considered in case the procedure for the realization of the referendum in Parliament is postponed.
"That is the second alternative, but it will be awaited if the Congress does not speed up these reforms which we consider to be the executive power and the population as a whole as urgent measures to be taken in addition to the development of infrastructure and social works that we are doing everywhere in Peru, "he emphasized.
As he said, he was strengthened from his journey to Madre de Dios when he proved that the population is aware of the need for reforms at the political and judicial levels.
"I hope that the Congress of the Republic will accept these requests responsibly and with the speed and urgency that the matter deserves to be processed to immediately raise the referendum as the next step," he said.
In this respect, he was of the opinion that having such reliable institutions is just as important as having development work. "It is to have a legal capacity that we respect," he concluded.
