The provincial municipality of Arequipa granted 5 thousand 300 new licenses to provide the taxi service. The process was closed on Friday, August 17.
The transport manager of the municipality, Percy Velarde, said that the permits should be renew every yearand units over 20 years old will not be able to provide service. Among these, the Tico model car, which they will only circulate until the end of the year.
The delivery of SETARE (special permits for taxi services) was carried out from 14 June to 17 August. The resolutions and the delivery of authorizations are delivered to those who have made the process for the next fifteen days.
According to Velarde there will be no extension.
